A drone interception in Saudi Arabia's Taif province has killed one person and injured two others, according to Saudi authorities. Al Jazeera speaks to Professor Mohamad Elmasry about concerns that the conflict could expand across the region, as Saudi Arabia's allies remain hesitant to provide direct military support. The discussion examines the history of the Houthi conflict in Yemen, previous failed diplomatic efforts and the human and economic costs of continued regional tensions involving Iran and Yemen. Elmasry says a diplomatic compromise is needed to prevent further losses.
