Russia struck Ukraine’s Zaporizhstal Iron and Steel Works with two ballistic missiles on Sept. 17, injuring one worker and damaging engineering equipment and the plant’s railway network, according to Metinvest, the facility’s owner and Ukraine’s largest steel producer. The attack marked the fourth strike on the plant in just over a month, with Metinvest saying Russia has fired 17 ballistic missiles at the facility since August. The latest attack came five days after four missiles struck the plant on Sept. 12, injuring four workers. Metinvest Chief Operating Officer Oleksandr Myronenko said Ukraine’s metallurgy sector, which once contributed up to 7% of the country’s GDP, may now account for close to zero. #russia, #ukraine, #ukrainewar, #russiaukrainewar, #ukrainecrisis, #zaporizhstal, #zaporizhzhia, #russiamissiles, #ballisticmissiles, #russianstrike, #ukraineattack, #steelplant, #steelindustry, #ukrainesteel, #metinvest, #worldnews, #breakingnews, #geopolitics, #easternukraine, #ukr
