Mayor Zohran Mamdani says he will not participate in protests surrounding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to New York for the United Nations General Assembly. Mamdani says his priority is keeping New Yorkers safe, maintaining public order, and ensuring the city continues to function during a period of expected demonstrations. His decision comes despite his previously stated views on Israel and Palestinian rights. The mayor’s stance has received support from some Muslim community leaders and CAIR, while Israeli officials have criticized his position. With heightened security and protests expected around the UN, the visit is becoming a major political and security issue in New York City. #ZohranMamdani #Mamdani #Netanyahu #BenjaminNetanyahu #UNGeneralAssembly #NYCProtests #NewYorkProtests #MamdaniNetanyahu #NetanyahuNYC #NYCPolitics #NewYorkCity #IsraelPalestine #PalestinianRights #NYCNews #UNGA #NYPD #NYCProtests2026 #NetanyahuVisit #MamdaniNews #BreakingNews #onein
