Men are in a "sea of conflicting ideologies" about what it means to be a man, author Jon Ronson says. "It's as if, you know, there's some primordial revulsion when a man moves away from his position as, like, stoical provider," he told PBS News' Geoff Bennett. "Then you turn on the TV, ... and men in TV ads are just like doofuses who can't do anything right and have to be bailed out by their exasperated wives. So I get it. I get why men don't really know who they are." Ronson looks at what happens to men when they become detached from society in his new book, "The Castle: Adventures in a World of Unraveling Men.” Ronson joined Bennett for the latest episode of the PBS News podcast, "Settle In." They discuss his book, modern masculinity and more. For the full episode, click the link in our bio. Watch PBS News for daily, breaking and live news, plus special coverage.
