Her friend and business partner had one last request before she died of cancer: she wanted her makeup done — for her own funeral. So Beatriz de Sousa Viegas found herself in a funeral home, red lipstick in hand, playing "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" beside an open casket. Not crying. Steady. Careful. Because her friend hadn't asked for more time — she'd asked to look like herself. That moment became the seed of Oncoglam, the magazine Beatriz co-founded to help women feel beautiful through cancer treatment, and the reason she now argues that beauty was never about vanity — it's devotion, a way of saying "I still see you" when the world reduces someone to their diagnosis. Co-founder and editor-in-chief of Oncoglam, Portugal's only magazine dedicated to cancer, lifestyle, beauty, and fashion for patients, healthcare professionals, and caregivers. Aims to bring dignity, style, and humanity to a subject often shaped by purely clinical stories. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED
