India, Israel and Palestine share a history that stretches back decades, but how that history is remembered and presented has now become the subject of a new debate. The Embassy of the State of Palestine in New Delhi hosted a presentation titled “Israel and the Falsification of India–Palestine Shared History.” The presentation examined what it describes as an attempt by Israeli hasbara to rewrite a chapter of India’s own history, asking what was changed, why it was changed and what it means for India and Palestine. The event also included a short documentary film and a presentation by the Palestinian Ambassador. The video looks at the historical debate surrounding India, Israel and Palestine, the competing narratives surrounding their shared history, and why historical memory has become an increasingly important part of the wider Israel-Palestine information battle. What exactly is being alleged? What historical episode is at the centre of the presentation? And why does this matter
