The RNLI has temporarily suspended operations at its Portsmouth lifeboat station after volunteers were subjected to abuse and intimidation following the rescue of asylum seekers in the Channel. Investigative journalist and former prisoner David Shipley says anger over illegal migration is being aimed at the wrong people, arguing that RNLI crews are volunteers whose job is simply to save lives at sea. He says responsibility for migration policy lies with the Government and the state, not with lifeboat crews who have been placed in an increasingly difficult position. Have you got a story?
