Tourists on the Greek island of Crete watched a major multinational military exercise unfold near a beachfront in Maleme on Friday as Greece and Egypt concluded the annual Medusa 15 drill. The exercise, which ran from September 10 to 18, involved forces from Greece, Egypt and Cyprus, with France and Italy also participating this year. The drills featured special-forces beach landings, helicopters, parachute jumps, drones and simulated attacks, while tourists watched from nearby sunbeds. Greek military police established a cordon during the exercise to keep civilians away from the operational area. Greek Army spokesperson Lt. Col. Maria Kioliou said the exercise had expanded beyond its original format and incorporated lessons from modern conflicts, including the use of unmanned systems. #greece, #crete, #medusa15, #medusa152026, #greeceegypt, #greekmilitary, #egyptianmilitary, #france, #italy, #cyprus, #militarydrill, #militaryexercise, #militarynews, #specialforces, #drones, #military
