Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada is moving ahead with a new “Alliance for the Future” with the European Union while keeping the door open to renewed trade talks with the United States. Carney defended Ottawa’s decision to suspend negotiations with Washington, saying the U.S. terms asked too much from Canada while offering too little in return. Following his visit to Strasbourg, Carney said the Canada-EU partnership will cover trade, defence, energy, technology and critical minerals. He stressed that Canada would return to the negotiating table with the U.S. “when the US is ready,” but said any deal must respect Canadian sovereignty, culture, official languages and economic interests. #markcarney #donaldtrump #europe #canada #uscanada #canadaeu #europeanunion #tradetalks #canadausrelations #eu #trump #tradewar Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
