The American Psychiatric Association classifies gambling as a mental health disorder, and a new report by the state comptroller’s office finds mobile sports betting has emerged as New York’s second-largest source of gaming revenue, only behind the lottery. Since the practice became legal in 2022, state data shows there has been an 8.5% rise in people seeking help for gambling problems. State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli said on “Inside City Hall” that the practice “affects families.” He also discussed prediction markets and his reelection campaign. #NY1 #NYC #News #politics #gambling -------- For more on this and the latest NYC news: http://specne.ws/NY1YT Watch live news: http://specne.ws/YTliveSN Get the Spectrum News App on all your favorite devices: http://specne.ws/GetSNApp2
