Former Labour MP Simon Danczuk has warned that Britain risks leaving itself dangerously exposed as concerns grow over Russian hybrid attacks, drones and the security of critical infrastructure. He argues that defence must remain the first duty of government, saying the country cannot sustain a welfare state if it cannot first protect itself. Danczuk also criticises Prime Minister Andy Burnham over defence spending and calls for a much stronger commitment to Britain’s military capabilities as European leaders warn that the Russian threat is intensifying.
