Visitors sprinted across Munich’s Theresienwiese on Saturday as the gates opened for the 191st Oktoberfest, rushing to beer tents to secure sought-after seats on the festival’s opening day. Police lined the route as crowds ran and queued outside the tents, while other visitors arrived by horse-drawn carriage. The annual opening-day dash, known locally as the “Wiesn-Run”, has become a familiar Oktoberfest ritual. The grounds opened shortly after 0900 local time following a brief delay, while beer service was due to begin at noon after the ceremonial tapping of the first keg at the Schottenhamel tent by Munich Mayor Dominik Krause. The festival runs from September 19 to October 4. #oktoberfest, #oktoberfest2026, #munich, #germany, #oktoberfestmunich, #wiesnrun, #wiesn, #beerfestival, #beerfest, #oktoberfestopening, #oktoberfestcrowd, #beertents, #munichnews, #germanynews, #viralvideo, #viralnews, #worldnews, #breakingnews, #lightnews, #festival In this Times Now World News report, we
