Two months into electronic birth notification, more than 270,000 newborns have been registered and assigned lifelong unique personal identifiers. The digital system transmits newborn details directly from hospitals to civil registration services, making the issuance of birth certificates faster. A Citizen TV spot check in Bomet shows how digital registration is changing the identity journey. Meanwhile, mobile live capture units are helping ID applicants experience shorter waiting times, with cards issued within three to seven days in some sub-counties.
