Earl Spencer’s new memoir has reignited controversy over King Charles’ reaction to Princess Diana’s death and his relationship with Camilla. Spencer claims the then Prince Charles sounded “giddily elated” during a phone call after Diana died and suggests he may have realised it could eventually allow him to marry the woman he loved. Buckingham Palace has challenged Spencer’s recollection, saying grief can affect judgment and memory, while Spencer insists his account is accurate. Charlie Rowley speaks with journalist and former royal correspondent Linda Duberley. Have you got a story?
