Iran has rejected Saudi Arabia’s attempt to blame Tehran for Yemen’s escalating war, accusing Riyadh of arming its own Yemeni allies while branding Iranian cooperation with Ansar Allah as foreign interference. Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei challenged what he described as a double standard, asking why Iranian support is labelled intervention while Saudi military backing for Yemen’s internationally recognised government and allied armed groups is not. Rezaei accused Saudi Arabia of prolonging a conflict that began with its military intervention in 2015 and urged Riyadh to accept the political reality created by Ansar Allah’s control of Sanaa and much of northern Yemen.
