Germany is voting in two state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Berlin, with the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) expected to make further gains. The vote comes just two weeks after the AfD came close to winning a majority in Saxony-Anhalt, putting Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his center-right CDU under renewed political pressure. The elections are being closely watched for what they could mean for Germany’s political landscape, Merz’s leadership and the AfD’s growing support in the country’s eastern states. Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania could deliver another major test for Germany’s governing parties. #Germany #AfD #FriedrichMerz #GermanyElections #GermanPolitics #MecklenburgVorpommern #Berlin #Europe #Politics #Election Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling English Daily In The World.
