Former NRL player Jamil Hopoate has been arrested and charged with drink-driving after allegedly crashing into a parked Toyota Hilux on Sydney's northern beaches and attempting to flee the scene in Narraweena. The 31-year-old, who refused a second breath test at Manly Police Station, faces eight charges including driving without a licence and will appear in court in October. This is the latest in a series of legal troubles for the son of former Manly player John Hopoate, who was previously imprisoned for his role in a $150 million cocaine bust and was sacked by the Eels in 2012 for another drink-driving offence.
