A 41-year-old Sydney mother has been identified as a murder suspect after allegedly stabbing her three children in their car seats at Valley Heights in the Blue Mountains, killing her five-year-old son and critically injuring his siblings aged one and three. The incident occurred when the mother told her husband she was taking the children on a picnic before allegedly attacking them and then herself in what police describe as a barbaric murder-suicide attempt. The tragedy was the fourth alleged domestic violence fatality in NSW within 24 hours, following three separate attacks on women across the state.
