We’re often told what a successful life should look like. Priyanka Rudrappa chose to question that script. From choosing Home Science when everyone expected her to pursue biotechnology, to returning from the UK during the 2008 recession, her journey took several unexpected turns. Each one eventually led her closer to building something of her own—a design studio centred on customisation and detail. But this isn’t just a story about fashion or entrepreneurship. It’s about finding the confidence to make your own choices, becoming financially and emotionally independent, and refusing to let other people decide what your life should look like. Sometimes, a plot twist is exactly what sets you free. Priyanka Rudrappa is the Founder and CEO of Café Amudham, a fast-growing South Indian café brand built on a deep love for authentic, comforting food. Founded in 2022, Café Amudham reflects her belief that traditional recipes can be thoughtfully brought into modern spaces without losing their soul
