The Tony- and Obie Award-winning writer and performer is best known for her Broadway hit Bridge and Tunnel. She is back in New York with her latest solo performance, America, Who Hurt You?, which is being presented by the National Black Theatre and the Theatre for a New Audience at Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Brooklyn. America, Who Hurt You? “starts with our history of genocide as a country, our history of enslaving African people, our history of indentured servitude,” says Jones. “This show … is about restoring the history that has intentionally been erased.” Democracy Now! is an independent global news hour that airs on over 1,500 TV and radio stations Monday through Friday.
