After getting plenty of matches on dating apps but no second dates, Yuchen began to wonder if he was a “lousy” person. The 34-year-old engineer joined the School of Yapping, a two-month workshop series for youths to build social confidence. He learnt to read social cues and received feedback on how he communicated with others. He then put his conversational skills to the test at his first-ever speed-dating event, where he secured a second date.
