Russia is expanding a key carbon-fiber production facility in Tatarstan as Moscow seeks to increase its capacity to manufacture Geran kamikaze drones. The planned Alabuga-Volokno expansion could add 500 tonnes of military-grade carbon fiber annually by 2029, with weapons expert David Albright estimating that the additional capacity could support around 28,000 more drone airframes each year. That would represent a potential 78% increase over Russia’s current estimated annual Geran production of more than 36,000 drones. The expansion is part of Moscow’s broader push to strengthen domestic drone manufacturing and reduce dependence on imported materials as the war in Ukraine continues. #russia #ukraine #russiadrones #drones #kamikazedrones #geran #shahed #dronewar #alabuga #putin #ukrainewar #russiaukrainewar #military #war #geopolitics #europe #nato #defence #militarytechnology #timesnowworld Stay connected with Times Now World for real-time global news and analysis: 🌐 Read full covera
