Economist Liam Halligan warns that Labour’s tax-and-spend policies risk driving the British economy towards recession and a full-blown financial crisis. The Centre for Policy Studies director argues that Britain’s historically high tax burden is discouraging investment, destroying jobs and pushing wealthy entrepreneurs overseas. He also warns that excessive welfare spending risks creating a permanent class of “client voters” dependent on state handouts. With Britain reportedly spending around £120 billion a year servicing its debt, Halligan says financial markets are “flashing red” and the Government must rein in spending before international creditors force it to act. #UKEconomy #Labour #Tax Have you got a story?
