Former Office for National Statistics statistician Jamie Jenkins reacts to research claiming that one in six households receiving Universal Credit contains at least one foreign national, with annual payments reportedly reaching £12 billion. Jenkins warns that Britain can no longer afford an ever-expanding welfare bill, arguing that benefits should be a safety net rather than a way of life. He calls for lower immigration and greater efforts to train the nearly one million young people reportedly outside employment, education or training. Julia Hartley-Brewer also attacks the decision to abolish the two-child benefit cap, arguing that working taxpayers are being forced to fund households making choices they could not afford themselves. #UniversalCredit #Immigration #WelfareState Have you got a story?
