Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in New York for the 81st United Nations General Assembly, carrying a big message for Washington. Speaking ahead of the session, Araghchi said Iran remains in a state of war following what he called a “cowardly war of aggression” by the United States and Israel. He said Tehran’s priority was to defend the rights and interests of the Iranian people on the international stage, honour those killed and expose Western double standards. Araghchi also accused the US and its allies of ignoring international law while allowing Israel a free hand in the region.
