Former Australian ambassador to the US, and former treasurer, Joe Hockey says the meeting of US President Donald Trump and China's President Xi Jinping in Washington will focus more on trade and tariffs than the AI race. Even so, warnings on AI are coming thick and fast ahead of Thursday's summit. It comes as Australia's Prime Minister joins the leaders of 19 other nations to call for safeguards on AI, and to make sure it remains under human control. On the US midterm elections.
