Ethan Hawke and Julia Jones sit down with MovieWeb’s Joe Deckelmeier to discuss their new survival thriller 'The Weight.' Hawke explains why the film gave him the chance to finally channel the kind of old-school action heroes once played by Steve McQueen and Paul Newman, while Jones breaks down Anna’s immediate connection with Samuel and how director Padraic McKinley’s background as an editor shaped the performances on set. They also discuss the brutal physical conditions of filming in the wilderness, carrying heavy packs through rough terrain and freezing water, and why those real-world challenges helped give 'The Weight' its visceral quality. 'The Weight' is NOW playing in theaters.
