2026 is a year with no shortage of variety; the quality of releases has surprisingly matched the breadth, reminding us that your backlog isn't getting any smaller anytime soon. Even if there was sheer trepidation at the number of games to look forward to in such a short space, the past weeks have proven that there too much of a good thing may not be all that bad. And as much as there's fear about triple-A titles dumbing things down to attract the widest audience, a boatload of other releases prove just how engaging the medium can be, regardless of budget.
