Which Tile Shower System Should I Use? This is a question I get asked most often by my students 😃 And my answer is always, "it depends on the situation" If you have an uncommon & odd sized shower, I usually recommend Wedi or Schluter. Mainly because of the versatility of it and being able to cut down to the custom size. If the drain location is off center and can't be moved, then I suggest Schluter. Schluter can be modified even more than Wedi. You can patchand/or extend a shower slope easily if you blanket over with schluter membrane For standard sized showers (ex. 32" x 60, 36" x 48", other nominal sizes) Tile Redi is the fastest and easiest to install. Simply thinset down and hang wall board. No worries on shower pan & wall transitions as they are waterproof by manufacturer.
