Pete Buttigieg is taking aim at Donald Trump’s famous “drain the swamp” slogan, using a sharp reminder about Trump’s earlier campaign promise during a Texas Democratic Party event in Dallas. Buttigieg referenced Trump’s 2016 slogan while criticizing what he described as the influence of cryptocurrency money and corporate lobbyists. He also joked that the only thing Trump had actually “drained” was the Reflecting Pool in front of the Lincoln Memorial. The former transportation secretary also questioned Trump’s proposal for $5,000 “dividend” checks and criticized Congress for taking a lengthy recess ahead of the midterm elections. The remarks come as Buttigieg continues to make public appearances ahead of the 2026 midterms, while speculation continues about his political future. #PeteButtigieg #DonaldTrump #Trump #ButtigiegVsTrump #DrainTheSwamp #TrumpNews #PeteButtigiegNews #TrumpPolitics #USPolitics #AmericanPolitics #2026Midterms #MidtermElections #TexasPolitics #TexasDemocrats #T
