Kemi Badenoch has urged a village which voted to quit the United Kingdom not to leave, as she described plans for an asylum camp near Piddington in Oxfordshire as a “women’s issue”. The Conservative Party leader on Monday met more than 40 women from the village, who told her that they had begun organising self-defence classes. They also told Mrs Badenoch that local police had warned them they would need to “run and hide” if an incident were to take place.
