Households with at least one foreign national received a record £11.9bn in Universal Credit payments in 2025, according to official figures cited by The Telegraph. Around £7.7bn went to jobless claimants. The figures come as Andy Burnham considers proposals to extend the standard settlement period for migrants from five to 10 years, with longer periods proposed for some care workers. Kevin O’Sullivan interviews Philip Kiszely, Senior Fellow at The New Culture Forum. #UniversalCredit #MigrantBenefits #Immigration #AndyBurnham #ShabanaMahmood #Benefits #ILR #Migration #Labour #UKPolitics #UKNews Have you got a story?
