New analysis shows that over 7.3 million working-age adults, one in five across England and Wales, are now claiming Universal Credit, including 3.3 million people under 40. CEO of The Centre For Government Reform Ameer Kotecha described the figures as "genuinely depressing," noting that one in four people in Britain now identify as disabled, a statistic he said directly explains the scale of the wider Universal Credit numbers. He identified mental health conditions, anxiety, ADHD, and other behavioural or autism-related issues as the primary drivers behind the surge, stressing that this is overwhelmingly a crisis affecting people in the prime of their working lives rather than older claimants. Speaking with CEO of The Centre For Government Reform Ameer Kotecha, Talk's Ian Collins says: "What, I mean, in a nutshell, what the heck is happening?!" #universalcredit #welfarereform #iancollins #talk Have you got a story?
