Around 175,000 German auto industry workers joined nationwide protests organised by IG Metall against job cuts and possible plant closures, as pressure mounts on one of Germany’s most important industrial sectors. In Zwickau, a major Volkswagen production hub, union leaders warned that cuts at VW could affect suppliers, retailers and businesses across the region. Volkswagen is undergoing a major restructuring as German carmakers face weaker demand, high costs, growing Asian competition and the expensive transition to electric vehicles, batteries and software. Workers are demanding investment in German plants and new technology instead of further job losses. #volkswagen #germany #germanautoindustry #vw #igmetall #germanycrisis #autocrisis #jobcuts #plantclosures #zwickau #germaneconomy #protest #workersprotest #europeeconomy #electricvehicles #germanautomakers Stay connected with Times Now World for real-time global news and analysis: 🌐 Read full coverage: https://www.timesnownews.co
