For first-time parents Amy Harper and James Lovell, every new milestone their baby boy reached was a pure delight. At nine months old, Louis was thriving – sitting up on the floor, smiling endlessly at his mum and dad, and proudly passing toys back and forth from one little hand to the other. Then came the moment he suddenly slumped over. It was the gut-wrenching beginning of Louis’ “normal” development going terrifyingly backwards. Within weeks, the active, happy baby who loved the world around him could no longer sit up, hold a toy, or even sleep on his own. Trapped in relentless nerve pain, he had to be held by his family 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the rest of his short life. The couple has shared their story on World Childhood Dementia Day to raise awareness about the heartbreaking condition. This is Louis Lovell's story. #dementia #australianews #australia #documentary
