Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney has sharply criticized Israel’s E1 settlement plan, calling it a “direct threat” to peace and the two-state solution. Speaking during the UN General Assembly, Carney announced CAN$100 million in assistance for Palestinians, including humanitarian aid and support for peace and security efforts in the West Bank. Canada also said it would introduce trade restrictions targeting goods produced in Israeli settlements, as concerns grow over continued settlement expansion and its potential impact on the prospects for a two-state solution. The developments come as Israeli authorities prepare tenders for thousands of settlement units under the E1 project, adding to international tensions over the future of the region. #Canada #MarkCarney #Israel #Palestine #E1Settlement #IsraeliSettlements #TwoStateSolution #Gaza #MiddleEast #CanadaIsrael #CanadaPalestine #PalestinianAid #SettlementExpansion #UNGeneralAssembly #IsraelPalestineConflict #WestBank #Jerusalem #
