Michigan state Senator Abdul El-Sayed has sharply criticized Donald Trump over gas prices, arguing that Americans struggling with fuel costs need the president focused on their economic concerns rather than discussing plans for a new helipad or ballroom. Speaking to Fox News, El-Sayed said: “When you're the president of the United States and people are struggling with gas, you don't sit there and talk about your new helipad or your ballroom—you go and do your damn job.” The remarks highlight a broader political debate over gas prices, household costs, presidential priorities and the Trump administration’s economic policies.
