The City Council held an oversight hearing Tuesday about the Mamdani administration’s use of the encrypted messaging app Signal to text social media influencers. A lawmaker introduced a memo from the chief counsel, explicitly telling employees of the mayor's office that they should not use WhatsApp, Signal or any other communications app for work. This all raises questions about how City Hall is retaining records for transparency and whether the Mamdani administration is blurring politics with government. City Council Speaker Julie Menin joined "The Rush Hour" on Tuesday to talk more about that and other city news. #NY1 #NYC #News -------- For more on this and the latest NYC news: http://specne.ws/Lpf6CX Watch live news: http://specne.ws/YTliveSN Get the Spectrum News App on all your favorite devices: http://specne.ws/GetSNApp2
