California Governor Gavin Newsom has told ITV News the damage Donald Trump has done to US relations with the rest of the world has been "profound and pronounced". Speaking to reporters as he attended this week's United Nations General Assembly in New York, Newsom said he believed it would take "a lot longer than expected" to repair Washington's standing on the international stage. Newsom, who is in the Democratic Party, did not deny ambitions to run for president when asked, and suggested that the bar will be low for whoever does go on to replace Trump. #unga #newyork #trump #gavinnewsom #canada • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@itvnews?lang=en Follow ITV News on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on X: https://twitter.com/itvnews
