DC just dropped the FINAL trailer for CLAYFACE, and it's a lot nastier than I expected. I break down what's in it, what it tells us about the movie, and whether DC has a real horror hit on its hands. Directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake, Speak No Evil) and written by Mike Flanagan, Clayface stars Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, a Gotham street kid turned Hollywood leading man. A crime boss leaves him horribly disfigured, and a cutting-edge treatment restores him but wrecks his grip on reality. What follows is a spiral of all-consuming revenge. This is the DCU's first R-rated movie, and the trailer leans hard into the body horror. Watkins has said the full Clayface reveal is being saved for theaters, so don't expect a clean look at the final form before release. CLAYFACE hits theaters October 23, 2026.
