Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are set for high-stakes talks in Washington covering trade, Taiwan, Iran and artificial intelligence, with both sides bringing significant sources of economic and strategic leverage to the table. Trump welcomed Xi with a military honour guard and a B-1 bomber flyover, while Washington has tariff and sanctions powers, influence over Taiwan arms sales and controls on advanced AI chips. Beijing, meanwhile, holds a pivotal position in the global supply chain for rare earths and critical minerals used in automobiles, electronics and military equipment. The United States and China have also extended their trade truce until Jan. 10, creating space for negotiations while broader disputes remain unresolved. #trump, #xijinping, #trumpxisummit, #uschina, #uschinasummit, #china, #unitedstates, #trumpnews, #xijinpingnews, #chinustradewar, #taiwan, #taiwantensions, #rareearths, #criticalminerals, #aichips, #artificialintelligence, #iran, #geopolitics, #w
