Australia is about to experience one of the biggest transfers of wealth in our history. And once again, it comes back to OWNING ASSETS. Homes bought for a few hundred thousand dollars decades ago can now be worth multiples of that. Add super, shares and other investments, and trillions of dollars are expected to eventually move from older Australians to younger generations. But that wealth won’t be distributed evenly. Some Australians will inherit a home. Some will receive enough for a deposit. Others will receive nothing and have to build everything themselves. That could make the divide between families who own appreciating assets and those who don’t even more important over the coming decades.
