Italy will ban face coverings in schools and cap the number of foreign students per classroom, after ministers approved a plan unveiled by Prime Minister Georgia Meloni. [Subscribe to our Substack newsletter: https://channel4news.substack.com/subscribe] The decree still needs to be confirmed by parliament but paves the way for burqas and niqabs to be banned in school from the 2027-28 school year. It also places a 30% limit on the number of non-citizen students in each classroom who can’t speak Italian. There will be a €1,000 (£860) fine for non-compliance. #News #Channel4News #C4News #Italy #Meloni #Politics ------- Get more news at our site - https://www.channel4.com/news/ Subscribe to our Substack newsletter: https://channel4news.substack.com/subscribe Follow us: TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@c4news Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/channel4news/ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Channel4News Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/Channel4News/
