Pull one species out of an ecosystem, and the whole thing can collapse. But why? In this lesson, students will explore food webs by tracing the flow of energy through producers, consumers, and decomposers in a savanna ecosystem. Students will also analyze how changes in a food web can impact the entire ecosystem by predicting direct and indirect effects of removing organisms from the web.
