Tensions are rising around the Strait of Hormuz as 80 countries call for the waterway to be urgently reopened and condemn Iran and its Houthi allies over attacks and disruptions to international trade and energy security. A joint statement at the United Nations warned that Iran’s actions threaten navigation and international security, while also condemning renewed Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and strikes in the Red Sea. With the Houthis also advancing toward the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, concerns are growing over the potential impact on global shipping, maritime security and energy markets. Iran and the Houthis, however, maintain that their actions are defensive. #StraitOfHormuz #HormuzCrisis #Iran #Houthis #SaudiArabia #RedSea #BabElMandeb #IranWar #HouthiAttacks #HormuzStrait #GlobalTrade #EnergySecurity #MaritimeSecurity #ShippingCrisis #OilMarkets #MiddleEastCrisis #UN #UnitedNations #IranNews #HouthiNews #SaudiArabiaNews #BreakingNews #WorldNews #Geopolitics #GlobalSecurity -----
