U.S. President Donald Trump accompanied Chinese President Xi Jinping on a tour of the National Archives in Washington on Friday, bringing Xi's landmark state visit to the United States to a close. The leaders, joined by First Lady Melania Trump and Peng Liyuan, visited the building that houses the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The visit followed three days of high-profile diplomacy that included bilateral talks, a state dinner and discussions on trade, Taiwan, artificial intelligence and military communication. Chinese media reported that Xi urged Washington to handle the Taiwan issue prudently, while U.S. officials announced a two-month extension of a trade truce. Xi also stressed the need for cooperation and dialogue between the world's two largest economies to avoid confrontation. #donaldtrump #xijinping #trumpxi #uschina #nationalarchives In this Times Now World News report, we break down the this topic: Stay connected with Times
