A powerful explosion shook Athens’ historic Plaka tourist district near the ancient Acropolis on Friday morning, causing an old two-storey building to collapse and injuring at least two people who were rescued from an adjacent building, authorities said. Police cordoned off the area as specialist firefighters and a sniffer dog searched the site for anyone who might still be trapped. Footage showed extensive damage, shattered windows, debris-covered streets and damaged vehicles, while firefighters worked at the scene. The cause of the blast was not immediately confirmed, although local media reported that a gas leak was suspected. #athens #greece #athensblast #athensexplosion #plaka #acropolis #explosion #blast #breakingnews #greecebreaking #athensnews #plakaexplosion #explosionaftermath #rescueoperation #buildingcollapse #worldnews #timesnowworld Stay connected with Times Now World for real-time global news and analysis: 🌐 Read full coverage: https://www.timesnownews.com/world 📱 In
