What happened before the Big Bang? One extraordinary theory suggests the Big Bang may not have been the absolute beginning of reality — and there could be another universe on the other side. Physicists have explored a model known as the CPT-symmetric universe, in which our universe could have a corresponding cosmic history extending across the Big Bang. In this model, the Big Bang acts almost like a cosmic mirror, connecting our universe with an “anti-universe” whose temporal orientation is opposite to ours. But would time actually run backward there? Could observers exist on the other side? And could this strange idea help explain mysteries such as dark matter? In this video, we explore what may have existed before the Big Bang, the idea of a mirror universe, CPT symmetry, the arrow of time, and why some physicists are investigating whether the universe we observe could represent only one side of a much larger cosmic picture. This remains a theoretical cosmological model — scientists
