Spanish MEP Virginia Martínez visits Ceuta to document the situation on the ground for herself, filming makeshift settlements along beaches in the Spanish territory bordering Morocco. Virginia says local residents feel increasingly unable to use public spaces and describes meeting people living, trading and receiving charitable assistance near the coastline. She argues that Ceuta has been dramatically transformed and says she personally felt “like a stranger in my own country” while filming. The MEP also accuses Morocco of using migration to exert political pressure upon Spain and calls for military protection of the border, permanent maritime patrols and stronger economic sanctions. #Ceuta #Migration #Spain Have you got a story?
