Taiwan has pushed back against Chinese President Xi Jinping’s comments to Donald Trump on the future of the island, accusing Beijing of presenting its own claims as fact. Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry said sovereignty over Taiwan belongs to its people and that Beijing has no right to represent them. The statement came after Xi urged Trump to maintain what China calls the “correct position” of opposing Taiwan independence. The exchange highlights the three-way tension between Beijing, Washington and Taipei. China claims Taiwan as part of its territory, while the United States maintains unofficial relations with Taiwan and remains a key security partner. As Xi and Trump seek to manage US-China relations, Taipei is making clear that it does not want Taiwan’s future decided in talks between Washington and Beijing. #Taiwan #China #XiJinping #DonaldTrump #TaiwanStrait #USChina #TaiwanNews #ChinaNews #TrumpXi #Geopolitics #EastAsia #Taipei #Beijing Times Of India (TOI) Is The Largest Selling En
